It’s that time of the year again. Medical students are about to stock up on coffee and browse the internet for tips to revise and ace the exams once again. It is scary to think that the exams we write each year determines whether you progress to the next stage of your career. I normally don’t get that nervous when it gets to exam time. Mostly because if I have worked hard leading up to it, I know that God will reward me.
So the process begins. I will admit that I’m not a naturally clever individual. And no, I’m not being modest. I believe there are two types of academics in the world. Those that are born with the ability to understand complicated concepts and those that have to work hard in order to understand those very complicated concepts. Unfortunately, I am the latter individual. But I’m not going to complain about it; sure it makes life that extra bit difficult and there are times when I feel like I will never be on the same level as some of my colleagues. But it also encourages me to find that motivation to reach their level.
