Hot seats

As I mentioned earlier on in my blog, I’ve recently started my GP rotation. This year we get to have a bit more responsibility when being on placement. They have introduced 8 hot seats into this rotation which seemed scary at first but it was so much fun when I finally got to do it.

It basically involves you sitting in the GP’s chair and leading the consultation with the patient that walks in through the door whilst the GP watches the way you interact with the patient. After taking the history, you have to summarise what the patient told you, provide differential diagnoses, investigations and management to the doctor.

I had so much fun doing these sessions and can’t wait to do more in the upcoming few weeks!
