Blonde on Black

I decided to get a bit more colour in my hair this summer. Seeing as I’m not going away this year, I thought I could get away with spending a bit of money on my hair.

I love my black hair. It reminds me of the time I used to sit in front of my grandma as she used to rub oils infused with herbs in it back when I used to go to India to visit my family. Recently though, I’ve just fancied a bit of a change and decided to highlight my hair to give it a bit more of a structure and lift the texture.

I will eventually go back to having my jet black hair again, but for now, I’m going to try and enjoy trying out different styles on my hair until I get bored of it.

One of the biggest issues that I have is when people dye their hair blonde/go lighter, their hair tends to look more brassy. So I’ve bought the John Frieda Sheer Blonde (Colour Renew) shampoo and conditioner to neutralise the orange tones that could arise. I managed to get both of them for just £7.00 at Superdrug which is significantly cheaper than buying it from Boots!

An important thing to remember is to ensure is that the actual colour of the shampoo is purple. I’ve heard of a lot of people buying cheaper products that claim to do the job but in actual fact they were useless! So the moral of this post is: Do something funky with your hair and use purple shampoo if the funkiness involves you going blonde…
