First day of obstetrics and gynaecology

Today was my first official day in the hospital as a fourth year medical student. It was quite fun being on the wards. However, in PBL for this year we have to cover pretty much the whole of obstetrics and gynaecology. Which does seem like a pretty immense amount of workload but we covered most of it last year. It’s just a matter of whether I remember everything I learnt last year.

A couple of people have asked me for a bit of help with regards to their personal statement and it has made me realise that I need to come up with a blog post to give all the aspiring medical students that read my blog a few tips on what to include in their personal statement. It’s probably a bit late for those who are applying this year (sorry!), but hopefully those who are applying for medicine next year may find it useful. So in the next few days, I will be coming up with material for hints and tips for those applying to medical school.

The past week of unpacking is still taking its toll on me. I’ve been feeling really tired and can’t bring myself to knuckle down properly. So I’m going to give it a couple of days (maybe weeks) until I can finally get down to business and get productive and start all the material I need to know for this year.
