Those who know me well are aware of the fact that my taste in music is narrowed to Hip Hop. I suppose you can put it down to spending years of my childhood listening to tracks that I can choreograph to. Therefore, I am always a bit resistant when people attempt to get me to listen to music aside from this.
A friend of mine idolises John Mayer. So they tried to get me to listen to him. My first thoughts were ok he’s not so bad, lyrics are kinda cute just like his face… So when my friend found out that he was going to be coming to the UK, they jumped at the chance of getting some tickets.
So I tagged along because I have not been to many concerts before (but I have seen Ed Sheeran three times before he became famous – yes I am ashamed to pull that card but I am extremely proud of my fellow Suffolk export who is taking over the world!) so I thought I would go and see what he was like live.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was he not too bad on the eyes but he was utterly mesmerising on the guitar. The speed at which his fingers moved on the guitar and seeing how engrossed he was in the music really helped me enjoy the whole concert even if it was not the type of music that I would normally choose to listen to.
Having said that though, I was a bit disappointed that he didn’t play Free fallin’…
