Completing the Tough Mudder 5K challenge made me realise how unfit I am. Having said that, it was the first time that I had ever taken on something like this and I am so glad that I did it. I also raised £160 for Familia Trust in India which I am extremely happy about. Thank you to all those that donated money!
The 5K course was interspersed with 10 different obstacles. Each harder than the one before. The hardest challenge for me was climbing a net of ropes which took you quite far off the ground and my fear of heights began to kick in. But my team mate spurred me on and I managed to complete the task. The sense of achievement that I had was quite something…
The comradery among all those undertaking the 5K was heartwarming. I cannot even begin to tell you about the number of kind souls that offered me a boost up certain obstacles. It all led to me profusely apologising to them for getting mud on their clothes followed by thanking them for tolerating me climbing onto their shoulders in order to go across giant wooden walls.
Crossing the finish line along with my team led to such an adrenaline rush. I could not actually believe that I completed the challenge. Granted that the 5K is the easier course that is put on by Tough Mudder, I was still pretty proud of myself for getting through it in one piece!
